Man Gets 10 Months In Jail For Animal Abuse Conviction

POSTED: 1:08 pm EDT May 16, 2008

An Orlando man convicted on 52 counts of animal abuse was sentenced to ten months in jail.

In October 2006, Animal Control officers had to remove 55 dogs and 145 birds from a house on Marot Street. Magsood Ahamad wrote a letter saying he did nothing wrong and he was only trying to save the animals from being euthanized.

But that's exactly what happened to them, because they were in such poor health.

The judge said he is "no Michael Vick" and granted bond for Ahamad while he appeals his case.
