Obama, Clinton Finish Florida Tour After Strategic Events

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. -- Senator Barack Obama swept through Central Florida for the first time since before the primaries. His only public event was a town hall meeting at the Kissimmee Civic Center.Part of the stop was aimed at winning over Hispanic voters. His speech focused on domestic problems, specifically tough economic times and the need for change."We cannot wait. That's why I'm running for President of the United States of America right here and now," Obama said.Obama finished his Central Florida swing Wednesday night in Maitland for a private fundraiser at the Sheraton hotel.Senator Hillary Clinton continued her fight for the white house in South Florida. She spoke to supporters in Boca Raton, Sunrise and Coral Gables on Wednesday.Clinton won Florida's primary and was pushing for the results to be counted. But the Democratic Committee is refusing to count Florida's delegates because the primary was held before their designated date of February 5.On the republican side, Senator John McCain is planning a Memorial Day weekend at his Arizona retreat and Gov. Charlie Crist has been added to the guest list.Crist has been mentioned as a potential vice presidential running mate for McCain. Senator McCain was in Miami earlier in the week.
