Deputies Reprimanded For Wrestling, Killing Alligator

Three Volusia County deputies received written reprimands for trying to capture an alligator even though wildlife officers were on the way.

According to an, two other deputies were already waiting for the trapper at the Brightside Apartments, last month. But when deputies Keith Baughman, Jason Stickels and Nick Yackel showed up, Baughman jumped on the alligator's back and it bit him on the leg.

That's when Stickels shot and killed the gator.
