ORLANDO, Fla. -- A 52-year-old Disney cast member died Thursday night from injuries sustained while working a construction lift at the All Star Resort in June.

John Swearingen, of Davenport, died Thursday night in a hospital, Disney spokeswoman Zoraya Suarez said. The injuries were sustained in the course of his work on June 13 and he was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center. No other details about the incident were released.

Disney has been in contact with the family and Swearingen was described as a good friend and co-worker and a long-time employee.

Authorities from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Osecola County Sheriff's Office were notified after the incident, Suarez said.

Deputies are investigating and believe Swearingen's death was accidental, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
