Robbers Shoot Their Way Into Wendy's, Fill Trash Bag With Cash

Posted: 7:38 am EDT July 14, 2008

Investigators were searching for two armed robbers who blasted their way into a Wendy's in Apopka, early Sunday morning. They shot through a plate glass window, climbed into the restaurant and then forced the manager to fill a trash bag with cash.

The robbery happened when the Wendy's on Orange Blossom Trail was closed and the staff was cleaning up. Customers said they worry the violence could continue.

"You know it's only gonna get worse. People get desperate," said a customer.

Police discovered bullets mixed in with the shards of glass. They also found blood all over the floor.

Investigators said it appeared one of the robbers had cut himself as he climbed through the broken window.
