OCALA, Fla. -- An Ocala man convicted of beating his 5-year-old son to death has been sentenced to life in prison.

A circuit judge followed the jury's recommendation Friday that 34-year-old Richard L. Crawford should not get the death penalty. Crawford was convicted of killing his son, Coreyon Graham, in February 2006.

Crawford was also sentenced to 30 years in prison for aggravated child abuse. He must also pay $3,000 in restitution to Coreyon's family.
