Two people were hurt when airboats collided near West Melbourne on Monday afternoon.

According to investigators, two airboats collided, but it was unclear what caused the collision. The witnesses said the impact threw at least one victim into the boat's propeller.

One person was flown to an area hospital by helicopter. The other was taken by ambulance.

One of the airboats belonged to the St. John's River Water Management District, but authorities have not said who was at fault.
