Father Of Missing Boy Trenton Duckett Arrested

Friday, July 25, 2008 – updated: 9:32 am EDT July 25, 2008

The father of a Central Florida boy whose mother killed herself after the child went missing has been arrested on drug and driving charges.

The Sumter County Sheriff's Office says Joshua Duckett was arrested around 3:40 p.m. Thursday on charges he was knowingly driving with a suspended or revoked license and that he had drug paraphernalia in the car.

Duckett's son, Trenton, was 2 when he disappeared in August 2006. Authorities say the boy's mother, 21-year-old Melinda Duckett, killed herself as she became the focus of the investigation.

Joshua Duckett acknowledged he was arrested Thursday but disputed the charges.

One week ago, Joshua Duckett was at the home of Caylee Anthony's grandparents offering support.
