City staff was making sure everything was in place for the festivities and it looked like the city was preparing for a party.

The sight is more than 8 acres and when it is completed it will be comprised of 800,000 square feet. The Orlando Magic and the Orlando Predators will be the primary tenants of the 15-story building.

It may mean new jobs for a number of people as the construction begins and brings new opportunities for existing businesses.

"That's the only reason why we stuck around for so long is to get the benefits after struggling for so long to see the fruits of your labor come to fruition," said business owner Karl Brown.

Local businesses like Paradise Island Cafe will be catering the groundbreaking event. The café has been in business for 20 years in the downtown Parramore area.
