16-Year-Old Killed When Car Hits Tree In Early Morning Crash

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- A 16-year-old boy was killed when the car he was driving slammed into a tree in Orange County early Friday morning. The car was left wrapped around the tree on Spring Run Avenue at Lake Marsha Drive (see map)

Eyewitnesses said the vehicle was going at least 100 miles per hour when it crashed around 4:20am. Ricardo Prado Iudice, of Orlando, died at the scene. His passenger, 16-year-old Jonathan Beenman of Orlando, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.An eyewitness saw the crash and tried to help the victims."I just wanted to make sure there wasn't anyone else in the car," said Ali Nkeiti, a witness to the crash.The Florida Highway Patrol was investigating.
