• Boy, 17, hospitalized after being shot in Sanford


    SANFORD, Fla. - A 17-year-old boy was shot in Sanford on 13th Place and Mangoustine Avenue on Monday morning, authorities told WFTV.

    Police said that patrolling officers heard shot being fired at about 2:00 a.m., and found the teen shot in the middle of the street. 

    Crime scene investigators were at the scene picking up the teen's bloody shirt and bagging up items for evidence.

    The teen, whose name was not released, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

    Officers said they also found a bullet-ridden vehicle, but the occupants were not injured.

    Police said a white or silver vehicle was seen leaving the area.
