An Orlando woman says a snake trapped her in her house and she told Eyewitness News, when she called 911 for help, no one came. Eyewitness News found out that's not uncommon.

The aggressive snake showed up Thursday morning on the porch of the home on Bar Harbor Drive. The call wasn't considered an emergency and the woman had to wait it out.

"He's four and half [feet], I'd say. Almost as big as me," said Doreen Losi. "I've never been so intimidated by a snake."

Losi spotted the slithering reptile on her porch early Thursday morning. At first it wasn't aggressive, but when she tried to leave that's when the trouble started.

"Tried to get in the house. [The snake] climbed up the door, climbed up the window in the air conditioning vent. I'm like, he's not going away," she said.

Losi feared the snake was a poisonous water moccasin and she feared for her safety. That's why she called 911, Animal Services and a handful of other government agencies.

"I said, 'It's trying to come in the house and I believe it's venomous,'" she said.

The sheriff's office said it responds to animal cases if someone is in imminent danger, otherwise the calls are referred to Animal Services. But Animal Services said it will typically only respond if a wild animal is in the house.

"I was shocked nobody could help me," she said.

When Eyewitness News showed up, the snake was still on the porch. Comparing video of the snake to other photos of snakes, its narrower head and round eyes made it look more like a non-venomous banded water snake than a water moccasin.

Still, Doreen Losi isn't taking any chances. At last check Friday, no one has been able to catch the snake. Animal Services said, in these situations, it's best to hire a trapper.
