Woman Hits Gas Instead Of Brake, Car Hits Man Inside Business

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- A 31-year-old woman was ticketed Monday after she accidentally hit the gas and crashed into an Orange County business on West Oak Ridge Road and Defiance Avenue (see map), injuring two people inside.

The Florida Highway Patrol ticketed Myrna Avril of Orlando for careless driving and violation of driver's license restrictions, because she only had a learner's permit."I don't really know what happened," she said after the accident.The woman, with her baby in her Mitsubishi Gallant, was heading to the rental office for the South Ridge Apartments and said she accidently hit the gas, crashing into the side of the rental office building. A man sitting inside was injured but was expected to be okay.The damage to the building was extensive and a huge hole was left in the wall where the car struck.
