Orange County Votes To Oppose Permit For Water Bottling Company

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Lake County is getting some help in the fight to keep the Niagara Bottling Company from tapping a local aquifer.Orange County commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to pass a resolution opposing a 5-year permit that was granted by the Saint Johns Water Management District.A memo from Orange County Commissioner Teresa Jacobs claimed the permit to bottle water was "wholly inconsistent" with local efforts to convince residents to conserve.Her fellow commissioners agreed.
