KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- A woman trying to cross a road in Kissimmee was hit and killed by a pickup truck Friday morning. It happened at the intersection of North Thacker Avenue and West Carrol Street (see map) around 1:00am.

An eyewitness stopped in the same intersection saw the pickup hit the woman.

"I was stopped in the middle lane and I saw a black Ford Ranger pull up and he hit her from behind. She flew between 40 and 50 feet," said eyewitness Nicole Tuske.

The driver and the eyewitnesses called 911 and tried to help the woman, but she died on the way to the hospital. Her identity has not been released.

So far, the driver is not facing any charges in the crash.
