Robbery Suspects Carrying Pistols Force Employees Into Office

Thursday, August 28, 2008

Orange County deputies were searching for suspects who robbed a Dollar General store. The store located on Goldenrod Road, was robbed Wednesday night by two suspects wearing hoodies and bandanas over their faces.

Deputies said the suspects entered the store with pistols in hand and ordered all the employees and a customer into an office. Customers then called 911.

"Our main concern are our hostages. So what we wanted to do was to surround the building. We were able to make contact with some of the employees inside and we were not sure that the bad guys were gone. We went inside and rescued them," said Commander Spike Hopkins of the orange County Sheriff's Office.

The suspects had fled in a vehicle when deputies arrived. No injuries were reported and the Sheriff's Office was reviewing surveillance video for more clues.
