Thursday, September 4, 2008

Investigators are looking for a man and woman who cheated an elderly couple out of $5,000.

DeLand police said the elderly couple was grocery shopping when the con artists asked for money for a surgical procedure.

The man told the elderly couple he was an illegal alien with a winning lottery ticket and he would pay them back if they would cash it.

Police said the swindlers even drove the couple to the bank where they withdrew the money.
