MESSAGE BOARD: Talk About Anthony Case
Just before 1:00pm Monday, Casey left her home. She didn't have anything to say before she got in the back seat of her parents' car to visit her home confinement manager to plan her court approved visits, which is a condition of her bail.Eyewitness News tried to ask George Anthony about Casey's plans Monday when he opened his garage, but he didn't want to comment. He also didn't want to say anything about battery charges he could be facing.Patricia Young is from St. Petersburg, but in Orange County searching for Caylee. She was camped out near Casey Anthony's home Monday looking for answers to her questions."I was hoping that their was some new leads on the baby," Young told Eyewitness News.Young was also part of a group of protesters in front of the Anthony's Hopespring Drive home on Sunday night. Things got heated when a hammer-holding George Anthony got upset that they were too close to his home and shoved Young into the street."You are on my f****** property, get off my property!" George yelled during the incident.Young wasn't alone. Larry Donovan was also pushed. Orange County sheriff's deputies were called out and the two protesters who were shoved decided to press charges (read incident report). The sheriff's office filed the two battery charges with the State Attorney's Office."We don't care how they feel. Because obviously they are siding with their daughter, which is totally wrong," said protestor Sharon Cadieux. It was relatively quiet Monday morning, with no sign of chanting protesters. George drove out of his driveway a few times without answering any questions.
SHERIFF ASKS COMMUNITY TO "CALM DOWN"Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary says all the constant tension outside the Anthony home is dangerous and costly."There are two sides to every story and we don't need that kind of battling going on. I just want to ask the community to calm down a bit and let's focus on one thing and that is Caylee Anthony," Beary said.Beary said the chaos on Hopespring Drive is costing the sheriff's office resources needed elsewhere. He says deputies get calls to go to the Anthony home for all sorts of complaints, including fights and parking violations.
TEAMS CALL OFF SEARCH FOR CAYLEEA large scale search for Caylee Anthony's body has been called off. Organizers with Houston-based EquuSearch grew emotional on Sunday as they announced that they would head home.About a third of their targeted search area near the Orlando International Airport was underwater after Tropical Storm Fay. Director Tim Miller said they needed to wait for the ground to dry before continuing the search for Caylee."If Caylee is out there and if we're going through with four wheelers and horses, we may accidentally run over her cause she's under the water or we don't see her. We don't want to push her in the mud or destroy something," said Miller. The search attracted more than 1,200 volunteers over the weekend and from as many as 13 states. EquuSearch said that they have spent more than $35,000 in donations. The Anthonys made no comment.
BOND POSTED THURSDAYCasey was released from jail for the second time after her bond was posted late Thursday afternoon. Two bond agencies Macdonald Bail Bonds and Miller Bail Bonds, both out of Kissimmee worked together to post the $500,000 bond.Casey faces charges of child neglect and lying to authorities about the disappearance of her daughter Caylee who has been missing for nearly two months. Her family insists she's still alive but Orange County sheriff's detectives have said evidence indicates the child is dead.Casey's parents George and Cindy Anthony, provided part of the $50,000 needed to secure her $500,000 bond on a child neglect charge and an anonymous donor put up the rest. Casey's attorney Jose Baez refused to comment on the bond being posted, but his public relations firm put out a statement Thursday evening."The individual posting the bond prefers to remain anonymous and is doing it because of the belief that Ms. Anthony's constitutional rights have been grossly violated," the statement reads (read full statement).Press Corps Media, a group claiming to help Jose Baez with media requests told Eyewitness News national organizations and a dozen individuals who support Casey came forward to help. A Press Corps Media representative told Eyewitness News they have additional money set aside to post another bond if Casey is re-arrested and put back in jail.Todd Black said, "No media outlet paid to get her out... No production company paid to get her out... I cannot discuss organizations or individuals we are in contact with regarding bail."Press Corps Media said the groups were required to sign confidentiality agreements.
