Saturday, September 6, 2008

A crash that split a Lincoln Towncar in two pieces killed two men Saturday morning on Alafaya Trail near Golfway Blvd.

The accident occurred around 2:20am when the driver of the Lincoln lost control the car and started spinning around.

After going down an embankment, the driver's side door collided with a pine tree.

One of the victims was the driver, identified by the Florida Highway Patrol as 25 year old Robert Hoffman of Deltona. His passenger, 22 year old Justin Garver of Orlando, was also killed.

Another passenger, 21 year old Ross Garver, was seriously injured and taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating to see if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
