ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Sheriff's deputies were investigating a kidnapping in Orange County Monday. A 20-year-old girl's parents received a phone call saying that she was being held hostage for $2,600.

Her parents met the kidnappers at a Blockbuster on Chickasaw Drive and Curry Ford Road and that's when deputies intervened.

"Some of our unmarked deputies observed her get into the vehicle and apprehended the suspects before things got out of hand," said Detective Jamie Hoffman of the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Four people were arrested and were facing kidnapping charges.

Police said a shotgun was taken from the suspects and deputies were investigating the motive behind the kidnapping.

Deputies said the daughter was safely returned.
