MESSAGE BOARD: Talk About Anthony Case
Little Caylee Anthony was reported missing 56 days ago. Eyewitness News learned Monday that that Cindy Anthony was planning to force Casey out of the family home after Casey's stealing from the family took on a whole new level, but she was worried that Casey would take Caylee with her and that's exactly what happened and now Caylee's believed to be dead."Casey, why don't you care about Caylee? Why won't you say where your little girl is?" Eyewitness News reporter Kathi Belich asked Casey as she walked into the jail administration building with her brother Lee early Monday afternoon. As soon as the brother and sister got through the path between reporters, they high-fived each other as if they were celebrating some sort of victory. According to the Orange County Corrections Department, Casey met with her home confinement case manager Monday afternoon for approximately 20 minutes. During the meeting, her case manager set her out-of-the-home schedule for the remainder of the week."Casey how long are you going to put your family through this? Why won't you help find the little girl, Casey?" Belich asked as Casey quickly left the building and jumped into a waiting car.Officials also said Casey scheduled a meeting with her attorney every day this week. She can leave at 10:00am and must be home by 4:00pm. There is no schedule for her to be out-of-the-home over the weekend.
PROTESTERS REMAIN OUTSIDE ANTHONY HOMEIt was fairly quiet outside the Anthony's home Monday evening, with the exception of two protesters. Nancy Jones, from Orlando, and her friend Dixie Shelton protested in front of the home Tuesday evening. Both held angel-shapped signs that read "Angel Killer.""I just want to slap her and the parents in the face. She killed an innocent angel baby just so she could be a party girl," Jones said. All neighbors could do was stand, watch and wonder what will happen next."For the mother to not even come out in the front yard to come to a candle light vigil or even open the window to hold a candle and say, 'Please find my baby.' It's unforgivable," Shelton said.
CASEY HAD FIGHT WITH PARENTS IN MID-JUNEIt has been 56 days since Caylee disappeared. As far as anyone knows, her mother Casey has not spent even one of those days looking for her.Eyewitness News has learned that an intense fight right before Casey left with Caylee in mid-June was over money that Casey had stolen from her own grandparents, from an account dedicated to paying for assisted living expenses for her grandfather. Tensions had been building over the theft.Eyewitness News also learned Cindy Anthony had gone to a counselor who told her to kick Casey out. Cindy was worried Casey would take Caylee with her, so the counselor told her to try to get legal custody of Caylee. Before that could happen, Casey and Caylee left and Cindy believed Casey kept Caylee out of touch just to punish her. Relatives said Caylee was more attached to her grandmother than she was to her own mother.
GEORGE ANTHONY FACING CHARGESA confrontation between Caylee Anthony's grandfather George and angry protesters has led to criminal charges being filed against him, including battery on someone older than the age of 65. One of the protestors involved in that shoving match set up camp at the house Monday.Eyewitness News tried to ask George Anthony about Casey's plans Monday when he opened his garage, but he didn't want to comment. He also didn't want to say anything about the incident with protestors.Patricia Young, 65, is from St. Petersburg, but in Orange County searching for Caylee. She was camped out near Casey Anthony's home Monday looking for answers to her questions."I was hoping that their was some new leads on the baby," Young told Eyewitness News.Young was also part of a group of protesters in front of the Anthony's Hopespring Drive home on Sunday night. Things got heated when a hammer-holding George Anthony got upset that they were too close to his home and shoved Young into the street."You are on my f****** property, get off my property!" George yelled during the incident.Young wasn't alone. Larry Donovan was also pushed. Orange County sheriff's deputies were called out and the two protesters who were shoved decided to press charges (read incident report). The sheriff's office filed the two battery charges with the State Attorney's Office. They will get to decide whether they prosecute George."We don't care how they feel. Because obviously they are siding with their daughter, which is totally wrong," said protestor Sharon Cadieux.
SHERIFF ASKS COMMUNITY TO "CALM DOWN"Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary says all the constant tension outside the Anthony home is dangerous and costly."There are two sides to every story and we don't need that kind of battling going on. I just want to ask the community to calm down a bit and let's focus on one thing and that is Caylee Anthony," Beary said.Beary said the chaos on Hopespring Drive is costing the sheriff's office resources needed elsewhere. He says deputies get calls to go to the Anthony home for all sorts of complaints, including fights and parking violations.
TEAMS CALL OFF SEARCH FOR CAYLEEA large scale search for Caylee Anthony's body has been called off. Organizers with Houston-based EquuSearch grew emotional on Sunday as they announced that they would head home.About a third of their targeted search area near the Orlando International Airport was underwater after Tropical Storm Fay. Director Tim Miller said they needed to wait for the ground to dry before continuing the search for Caylee."If Caylee is out there and if we're going through with four wheelers and horses, we may accidentally run over her cause she's under the water or we don't see her. We don't want to push her in the mud or destroy something," said Miller. The search attracted more than 1,200 volunteers over the weekend and from as many as 13 states. EquuSearch said that they have spent more than $35,000 in donations. The Anthonys made no comment.
