ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. -- Kathleen Drutis has filed complaints to both the Altamonte Springs police and the Seminole County Sheriff's Office in regards to her ex-boyfriend, Luis Diaz stalking her. The Sheriff's Office already faces a lawsuit over allegations that deputies didn't properly handle a stalking case that turned into a double murder in 2007.Drutis has a restraining order against Diaz, but she said it's not doing her any good. She also said she was forced to quit her job over because of the situation.Drutis said he's not allowed within 250 feet or contact her, but she said he showed up at a K-Mart and followed Drutis to her job. She said that he has called to threaten her."This guy is crazy, I don't even know how he's on the streets," said Drutis.Kathleen admits she and ex-boyfriend Luis Diaz have had their problems and that became evident nine years ago, when she said he pummeled her in a violent attack."He came at me with a knife and threw me through a window," she said.Diaz was convicted and spent time in state prison, but once he got out she got an injunction ordering him to keep away. In July she reported to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office that he showed up at her job and harassed her. She said he even took a job at a carwash across the street. In August, she reported harassing and threatening phone calls to Altamonte Springs police."He never says 'kill,' but I know him and he carries weapons," Drutis said.Police did hand over a case to the State Attorney's Office for the threats, but that isunder investigation. The sheriff's office said Drutis made the complaint, but hasn't provided enough proof of the threats at work and even though they asked for more information, she hasn't come back."If someone's coming by work, we need to validate that with evidence to make a physical arrest or file charges with the state, and unfortunately in this case that hasn't been shared with us right now," said Lieutenant James Clark of the Seminole County Sherriff's office.Drutis received messages from Diaz saying:"It's time for you to respect my (expletive), if not… I'm sorry something bad is going to happen.""I'm afraid he's liable to kill me," she said.Eyewitness News has attempted to get a comment from Diaz, but he has not responded.
