Fake Doctor Accused Of Doing Tummy Tucks, Botox Injections

Thursday, October 9, 2008 – updated: 6:26 pm EDT October 9, 2008

A man playing doctor in Seminole County was arrested Thursday. Police said 25-year-old Carlos Delgado performed all kinds of potentially dangerous cosmetic treatments without a license.

Investigators carried more than a half-dozen boxes out of an Altamonte Springs cosmetic surgery center Thursday afternoon. Meanwhile, Delgado is in the Seminole County jail after officers raided Radiant Med Spa in brand new Uptown Altamonte (see map).

Ken Lima just bought a gift certificate for his wife at the spa and paid Delgado $90.

"He didn't even know how to use the cash register. That was a bit alarming to me. I mean, a facility like that. So my alarm was raised a bit, but he didn't seem like the guy who was going to be doing the procedures," Lima said.

Before and after images in the front windows offer all sorts of cosmetic procedures. Police listed Botox injections, laser procedures and tummy tucks among the procedures Delgado is accused of doing without a medical license.

The office has been open since June. Police said their investigation began with several former patients who came to police with complaints and police went to a judge for a search warrant.

"He was in the building. He cooperated with officers. He was placed under arrest at that time," explained Officer Kristen Kelting, Altamonte Springs Police Department.

Delgado is facing charges for practicing without a medical license.

The Altamonte Springs Police Department asks that individuals who have received cosmetic procedures under the care of Carlos J. Delgado or the Radiant Med Spa contact Detective Pierstorff or Lieutenant Warriner of the Altamonte Springs Police Department at 407-571-8248 or 407-571-8270.
