Teen Testifies Against Man Accused Of Framing Him In Pipe Bomb Case

Wednesday, October 15, 2008 – updated: 2:00 pm EDT October 15, 2008

A teenager took the stand Wednesday against the man accused of framing him. In 2007, deputies arrested Scott Davis Jr. on a tip from Kenneth Reeves. Now Reeves is on trial for making pipe bombs that he told cops had been made by Davis.

Prosecutors believe Reeves did it in retaliation for being rejected by Davis' stepmom.

"I honestly had no idea what pipe bombs were until I was arrested for it," Davis testified Wednesday.

He was arrested in May 2007, when two galvanized steel pipe bombs were found in his Apopka home. One was in his room and the other in his parent's bedroom. Defendant Kenneth Reeves is the man who told Orange County deputies exactly where to find them.

It was also on Reeves' computer that deputies found a copy of The Anarchist Cookbook, a how-to guide to making bombs. Reeves also contacted deputies to tell them they'd missed bombs on their initial search of the Davis' home. Investigators began to suspect Scott Davis was being framed.

The defense pointed out gunpowder and screws similar to those found in two of the pipe bombs were found in a warehouse on the Davis' property. It's a warehouse the prosecutor indicated Reeves also would have had access to.

Reeves is expected to take the stand in his own defense.
