ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- An Orange County woman lost her car because, she says, Orange County sheriff's deputies mistook a child's toy for cocaine.Debra Alexander had loaned her Jeep Commander to a man named Daniel Philogene. He was pulled over and arrested Monday for cocaine possession. The Orange County Sheriff's Office says its deputies found a large white powdery ball and 12 bags of marijuana in the SUV."The police stated it was cocaine, which it is not," said Alexander.Alexander said the ball is a Dino-Egg, a powdery white egg that dissolves when you drop it in water. After that, a child is able to find pieces of a dinosaur."You tear up my car and impound my car," said Alexander. "I have children to raise and I don't have no extra money to get my car."Deputies said the white powdery substance and green leafy substance on the egg tested positive for cocaine, but they've been unable to provide the evidence to a judge. On Monday, a judge gave the state 24 hours to provide more information about the drugs. The state is now asking for another 24 hours.Alexander is supposed to take the egg back Wednesday so it can be tested. In the meantime, Philogene is sitting in jail on a $50,000 bond.Philogene was arrested 10 years ago for robbery and fraud. He doesn't have any prior drug charges.
