Governor Sarah Palin Makes Two Stops In Central Florida

Posted: 9:56 am EDT November 1, 2008Updated: 6:57 am EST November 2, 2008

As the presidential campaign nears its end, both Democratic and Republican candidates are making stops in Central Florida. Governor Sarah Palin spoke at rallies in both Polk City and Ocala Saturday.

With the song “Redneck Woman” blaring on the speakers, Governor Sarah walked into a packed aircraft hanger at Polk County’s Fantasy of Flight.

Statewide polls show John McCain trailing Barack Obama by almost five points. Palin did her best to make one last push to persuade independent voters to vote Republican.

Palin promised McCain would balance the budget, all while reducing taxes. She warned an Obama administration would do just the opposite.

“This is the worst possible time to talk about taxes, but Barack Obama still wants to impose a massive tax burden,” said Palin.

Palin did make one minor error, she repeatedly referred to her location as Lakeland even though she was actually speaking in Polk City. Still, the mistake didn’t seem to bother voters at the rally, they said Sarah Palin did a great job.

A few hours later, Palin spoke at another rally in Ocala.

Palin isn’t the only one spending time in Central Florida. Senator Hillary Clinton made a stop in Winter Park where she campaigned for Barack Obama.

Sunday night, Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden will be in Daytona Beach for an evening appearance at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Both presidential nominees will come to Florida on Monday, the day before the election. John McCain will be in Tampa, and Obama will go to Jacksonville.
