Car Fire Causes Heavy Damage To Home

Posted: 11:20 am EST November 9, 2008

The State Fire Marshall is investigating a Sunday morning fire that started in a car inside a garage, heavily damaging a house in the Lexington Village subdivision, north of Groveland.

According to a spokesman for Lake County Fire-Rescue, the residents of the Bluegrass Drive home tried to put the fire out with a garden hose.

When firefighters arrived shortly after 9am, the fire had spread to the inside of the house, and they had to concentrate on protecting the adjacent houses which were built close to on that was burning.

By the time the fire was put out, there was heavy smoke and water damage to the interior, making the home uninhabitable.

There were no injuries in the blaze, and no other structures were damaged.
