Rabbi Holds Memorial To Honor Friend, Mumbai Victim

Posted: 10:06 am EST December 2, 2008

An Orlando rabbi said he knew two of the 172 people who lost their lives in the Mumbai, India attacks. Chaim Lipskier held a memorial Monday night with several students from the University of Central Florida at the Chabad House near the university.

Lipskier's lifelong friend, a rabbi from New York and his wife, were killed when terrorist invaded the Chabad House in Mumbai. Lipskier said the deaths are not only a personal tragedy, but it's a global one as well.

"Terrorism affects us all and we have to find ways to contain it, and get it out of our lives," he said.

Rabbi Lipskier encouraged the students to see the devastation terrorism can bring and then try to make up for it by doing something positive.
