SILVER SPRINGS, Fla. -- A woman was arrested Thursday after she allegedly shot a man who had been living with her for a few weeks and told deputies the man had been rude.Marion County Sheriff's Office investigators said 47-year-old Janice Benton and the victim, whose name has not been released, were living together on 118th Avenue Road in Silver Springs (see map) after Benton invited the man to live there when she learned he was homeless and recently released from prison.Investigators said the two went out for drinks at Back 40 Lounge around 11:00am Wednesday and the victim apparently became upset with Benton for talking with other men. An argument ensued, investigators said, and Benton left without the victim, though he showed up at her home later.Benton told investigators the victim taunted her and she then retrieved a gun from her bedroom and fired one shot, hitting him in the head. Benton said the victim had been very rude while living with her and that she didn't realize the gun was loaded.Benton was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
