MELBOURNE, Fla. -- Deputies were first called out to the woods near I-95 and US-192 (see map) on Tuesday because someone heard gunfire and that's when they found a body, but the body isn't linked to the gunshots.Eyewitnesses said the body looked like it has been decomposing for a couple of days. Now deputies have two mysteries. They were still looking for a gunman Tuesday afternoon and trying to figure out where the body came from.Just before 4:00pm Tuesday, a resident saw someone walk behind one of the nearby homes with what appeared to be a long rifle or shotgun. Shortly thereafter, authorities started getting calls of gunfire in the area. When deputies started searching for the gunman, they stumbled upon the body. Eyewitness News has learned it is an elderly female body.Palm Bay police sent a detective to the area to see if it is 85-year-old Frances Sentner. She disappeared two days before New Years while on her way to Meals For Wheels.Investigators have not said if there are any obvious signs of trauma to the body.Meanwhile, authorities were able to find the supposed gunmen. They were people skeet shooting, doing target practice with clay pigeons.
