ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- George Anthony was released from Halifax Medical Center around 6:00pm Tuesday and is back home. It was previously believed, upon his release from Halifax Medical Center, that George Anthony would be brought to another hospital closer to his house, but his attorney told Eyewitness News he was back at his home.

The grandfather of murdered toddler Caylee Anthony had been hospitalized at Halifax Medical Center since January 23 after he was found inside a Daytona Beach motel with prescription pills, beer and a half-written suicide note.

Officials checked Anthony into Halifax under the Mental Health Act of 1971 (Baker Act), which allows law enforcement to hold someone in a hospital against their will for 72 hours. George stayed at the facility longer than the required time.

Eyewitness News made several calls to George Anthony's attorney Tuesday night to find out his condition, but the calls were not returned. The hospital would only confirm that he was no longer a patient.

In late January, law enforcement worked together to track George Anthony down at the Hawaiian Inn in Daytona Beach after he failed to show up for scheduled meetings and had sent disturbing suicidal text messages to his family and friends.

After the family attorney called 911 to report that George was missing (listen to call | read transcript), law enforcement used cell phone and GPS technology to locate him.

George Anthony's daughter Casey is in the Orange County jail. She is charged with the murder of her daughter Caylee Marie Anthony.

New information could cause the Florida Bar to take another look at Casey Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez.

Eyewitness News broke the story Monday that a former FBI agent has identified Baez's spokesperson as a convicted criminal named Gil Cabot. The spokesman, who calls himself Todd Black, has admitted that's not his real name.

Since the Florida Bar used a sworn statement from Black before dismissing a complaint against Baez, WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said, with the new information, the Bar could re-open its investigation.

"The person who signed the sworn affidavit is a convicted felon and it appears steps were taken to conceal that," Sheaffer said.

Sheaffer said it probably wouldn't have been an issue if Cabot had used his real name, because the Bar would have known about his past before making a decision.

FORMER FBI AGENT REVEALS "TODD BLACK" IDENTITY

A former FBI agent revealed to Eyewitness News that Todd Black is really Gil Cabot, a man who's spent time in prison for trying to extort money from a Los Angeles news anchor. The so-called Todd Black has been involved in the Casey Anthony case almost since the beginning.

The man who goes by the name Todd Black at Press Corps Media became defense attorney Jose Baez's public relations firm back in September. Eyewitness News went to Baez's office Monday and asked whether he knew from the beginning that Todd Black is really convicted felon Gil Cabot, but he would not answer any questions.

Baez hooked up with the phantom public relations man who goes by the name of Todd Black two months after Casey Anthony's first arrest, but the man never shows his face in public. One of Baez's partners, Jose Garcia, told Eyewitness News he's never seen Todd Black.

The public heard from Todd Black in October when he made a statement over the phone to a CNN show host.

"This is a very serious case, involving not just the loss of the life of this little girl, but the loss of whatever is going to happen with Casey Anthony," Todd Black said (hear it all).

"But I know that, based on the recording that I listened to, Todd Black is not Todd Black. Todd Black is Gil Cabot," former FBI agent Jack Trimarco told WFTV reporter Kathi Belich during a phone interview on Monday (listen to full interview).

Trimarco, a former FBI lie detector specialist, investigated Cabot in the 1980s for trying to extort money from Entertainment Tonight talent Jann Carl, who was then a Los Angeles TV news anchor.

"We recorded many, many phone conversations between Gil Cabot and Jann Carl, although Gil was always using different names and different aliases in his scheme. He eventually got arrested and was found guilty," Trimarco said.

Trimarco said someone connected to the Jann Carl case recently alerted him that Cabot, aka Todd Black, was involved in the Caylee Anthony case. When he listened to a recording of Todd Black's voice, the voice wasn't the only thing he recognized.

"But I do believe that he had used the alias Todd Black back in the 1980s," Trimarco said.

Cabot is a Tampa native and graduate of Hillsborough High School. He started out as a DJ and got involved in the music business before he got into trouble. Trimarco said Cabot uses threats and aliases to make money.

"The voice changes, the pitch changes, the inflection changes ... but the bottom line is they're all Gil Cabot," he said.

Late Monday afternoon, Press Corps Media responded to Eyewitness News' question in an emailed statement (read full statement).

"It simply DOES NOT MATTER if our company was founded by a gentleman who spent time in prison over twenty-five years ago, especially since that distinction is a key selling point that brings credibility to our services assisting celebrities, politicians and others charged with a crime. It simply DOES NOT MATTER that when he sold the company in 1996 he remained a consultant, just like it simply DOES NOT MATTER that security names are assigned to our company staff," Todd Black wrote in the release.
