BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. -- New information released Friday reveal disturbing details about the murder of a retired police officer who disappeared from his home in Palm Bay.

Paul Cadigan's dismembered body was discovered off a rural road in Osceola County on February 8. On Friday, Dianne Parker was jailed for his murder.

Parker made her first court appearance Saturday morning at the Brevard County Jail. She was denied bond on the first degree murder charge.

Investigators told Eyewitness News the victim died of multiple gunshot wounds and then was dismembered and scattered along at least two different rural roads in Osceola County.

Parker, 55, is accused of a crime fit for a horror movie. The Malabar woman is accused of murdering retired police officer Paul Cadigan and then using a hunting knife to dismember him, dumping the body parts at the end of a rural road in Osceola County (see map).

Cadigan disappeared on Super Bowl Sunday. Detectives in Osceola County tracked down who he met that day and were led to Dianne Parker's secluded home in Malabar on Weir Street (see map).

Investigators from Osceola County wouldn't say what evidence they found there, but it was enough to lead them to believe the murder occurred somewhere on her property. They turned the case over to Brevard County sheriff's agents.

"They had some sort of relationship. We don't know if it was platonic, romantic, if it was a business relationship," said Lt. Nic DeSantis, Brevard County Sheriff's Office.

Eyewitness News learned the Malabar woman was a licensed masseuse, although investigators don't know if her work brought the couple together. Detectives still don't have a motive.

"Don't believe it's in any way related to his previous employment as a homicide detective," Lt. DeSantis said.

Investigators were making new discoveries all day. They located the victim's head Thursday night, one road over from where other remains were found. Investigators said they also searched Parker's home for knives, but could not say whether they found the instrument used in the attempt to dispose of the body.

"It is a very good feeling when we can call the family and tell them that the individual responsible for their loss is off the streets. I am very proud of the efforts by all of these agencies who have worked around the clock to bring closure to this tragic incident," Brevard County Sheriff Jack Parker said.

Thursday, Eyewitness News reported that investigators were still looking for Cadigan's white Toyota Avalon. Authorities said, after investigators started talking with Parker, she told them the car was left at the Wal-Mart on Palm Bay Road and are searching the car for evidence.

Eyewitness News spoke to the victim's 81-year-old mother in New York State early Friday evening. She said she hadn't talked to her daughter in a decade, because of a fight over the pigeons Parker allowed to fly freely in her Malabar home.

Eyewitness News checked and Parker has no prior criminal history, but learned she had a Massachusetts mailing address in the 1990s, when the victim was a police officer in the same state.
