Boat Explodes With Two Men Inside

SANFORD, Fla. -- Two men were on their boat when it exploded on Lake Monroe in Sanford Sunday. Eyewitnesses took dramatic pictures of the vessel on fire.The thick black smoke and flames were about 500 feet from the shore. The men were not hurt and were able to get off the boat.

"Somebody yelled, 'Hey look at the water!' and there it was, a boat on fire." said eyewitness Tom Koscoe.Within minutes, a rescue boat arrived and took the victims back to dry land."There were a lot of flames, a lot of smoke, then all of a sudden we saw two heads and there were two men out there," said," Koscoe.Eyewitnesses said the boat sank to the bottom of the lake. Officials have not released what caused the explosion.
