Students At Closed Schools Reassigned

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- The Orange County School Board will hold its first public hearing, on Thursday, since the district decided to close some smaller elementary schools to save money.Meanwhile, new details are coming out about what could happen to the students whose schools are closing.Grand Avenue Elementary students would move to Orange Center Elementary.Hillcrest Elementary students will attend Howard Middle which will become a kindergarten through eighth grade school.Kaley Elementary will merge with Pershing Elementary and Lake Como Elementary, while Maxey Elementary and Pine Castle Elementary students will attend neighboring schools.So far, a decision has not been reached on what the county will do with students from Eccleston Elementary and Richmond Heights Elementary.
