Firefighting Crews Battle Lake County Blaze

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. -- Lake County firefighters are still on the scene, Monday morning, of a wildfire that burned almost 150 acres near Sorrento.Fire crews moved quickly Sunday to create fire lines and threw gallons of water on the wildfire in the Wekiva Pines neighborhood along the Lake and Seminole county line.Homeowners believe a transformer and power lines sparked the blaze. Firefighters were able to save seven houses."I mean, I couldn't even get in the driveway the smoke was so thick, and when I pulled in it was terrible," said Denise Hochreiter, homeowner's daughter.Evacuations have only been voluntary. As of Monday morning, firefighters said the blaze was about 40 percent contained.
