VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. -- Deputies say two accused car burglars asked the wrong driver to help them with a getaway. They were arrested on East Fairbanks Street in Deltona after they asked a Volusia County deputy for a ride.Officers say the crooks had stolen loot on them and, not only did they ask for a ride, one of them did a dance to convince deputies he was a rap star. Instead, deputies said, all the burglar's antics did was reveal the stolen GPS units, the cell phones and the chargers stuffed inside his pants.Eshon Hardy, 18, and Theodore Walker, 20, wanted a ride home, but got a ride to jail."I was actually laughing about it. I was laughing because it was ridiculous what they did," said victim Jorge Jaramillo.Even victims who lost GPS units, cell phones and pop tarts couldn't hold back a smile after hearing how the two men were caught. The sheriff's office said the suspects had hit at least nine cars, all unlocked, on two local streets and, when a sheriff deputy on patrol drove by, they asked for a ride home."I mean, that is so idiotic. What possessed them to ask a deputy for a ride after they've gone through all these cars?" asked another victim Carol Bryan."The deputy said from where he was standing he could actually see down the street a vehicle with the interior light on, in the vehicle," said Captain David Brannon of the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.Investigators said it's possible the list of victims will grow and there was nothing to indicate either of the two men was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
