Name Change For Polk Community College

Polk Community College is no more. The school, which has an annual enrollment of more than 20,000, is now Polk State College.

Newschief.com reports that the school is one of seven former community colleges in the state to add bachelor degrees to their programs. That allows them to become "state" colleges. The school's board of trustees voted in March to approve the name change.
