Theft Charges Prompt Lake Wales Employee's Resignation

LAKE WALES, Fla. -- A Lake Wales city official has resigned his position after charges that he used city money to buy a battery for his own boat.The Lake Wales News website reports that a police investigation revealed Jerry Torrence, assistant to the city manager, spent $70.44 of city money to purchase the marine battery.
