KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- A Kissimmee man said he ran out of his home early Sunday morning after hearing a loud boom. When he got outside, he saw flames shooting out of his neighbor's home.Officials said the home on Lake Berkley Drive (see map) was severely damaged. Firefighters said they did their best to save the house."The flames were 20 to 30 feet in the air," said Eyewitness Kenneth Brown.Brown said he recorded footage of the house burning on his cell phone."Once the roof caught, you could feel the heat way over here," he said.Brown's brother-in-law, Martin Diggs, quickly dialed 911 after he heard an explosion around 1:00am."After we heard the boom this garage door was puffed out," Diggs said.Firefighters arrived on the scene and cut the garage door off to get to the flames.Diggs and Brown say they first noticed the fire coming from under the front door. Then it crawled up the stairs and went straight through the roof.Bridget Curtis knows the homeowner. He was renting the place to a family."I've seen them around and they were here around six or seven last night," said Curtis.Eyewitness News learned the family was not home at the time of the incident. The family told the homeowner they'd be in Clearwater for the weekend.Fire investigators still don't have a cause of the blaze, but neighbors believe it was gas.
