6 Hurt In 8-Car Crash In Melbourne

MELBOURNE, Fla. -- Eight cars were involved in a crash in Melbourne on Tuesday morning that caused a two-hour road closure and sent six people to the hospital, according to a report from Floridatoday.com.Police weren't sure what caused a driver to hit several vehicles at the intersection of Eau Gallie Boulevard and John Rodes Boulevard (see map).“There were a total of eight cars involved,” Cmdr. Marc Claycomb, spokesman for the Melbourne Police Department, told Floridatoday.com.According to police, a 70-year-old woman sideswiped several cars and caused another car to hit two others.
