Beleaguered Deltona City Attorney To Resign

Deltona's city attorney will collect nearly one year's salary in severance pay when he is shown the door in September. On Monday night, Deltona City Commissioners approved a $108,000 severance package for George Travato.

Eyewitness News has been following the story since Deltona commissioners first suspended Travato in July. They were not happy with his job performance.

Travato's salary was $123,000 a year. His contract only required six months severance pay, but he was given more in exchange for not taking any legal action against the city.

Under the deal, Travato will resign September 1, 2009.
