ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- A central Florida serial robber has struck again. The crook never shows a gun and he barely shows his face. In the past six days, police think he committed 12 robberies at 11 different stores and restaurants across Orlando, Orange County and Clermont.Deputies say they want to stop the man before he strikes again and they think he will. He robs places in broad daylight.SURVEILLANCE: Serial Robber CameraDetectives released security video Wednesday from four different robberies (watch video). They hope somebody will call in with a tip.Paul Calfayan retired to Orange County from New York City to make pizza."This guy is looking to get caught. That's what it appears to me. I think he's looking to go to jail," he said.Orange County sheriff's detectives say the suspect is the busiest robber they've ever seen."In my three years in robbery, I haven't seen somebody like this. We had people who have come close, but not this amount. The sheer volume," Detective Darryl Tamash of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said. There have been a dozen robberies in the last six days across south Orange County, Orlando and Clermont. The stores and restaurants hit include a Hess gas station Tuesday night on Orange Blossom Trail, a 7-Eleven on OBT at 6:00 Wednesday morning, a Quiznos on south John Young Parkway and another 7-Eleven along the same road.Detectives believe the suspect is fully aware of the security cameras because he always wears a blue ball cap and keeps his head down, but he has not pulled a gun."He keeps his hand behind him, almost in the small of his back, under his shirt, implying he has a firearm," Tamash said. That's what he did to the clerk at a Hunter's Creek area dry cleaner. She said the robber told her he had a gun and he would shoot her.Next door down, is Paul Calfayan's pizza place. He watched the surveillance video. The man who knows pies and criminals spent 21 years on the New York City police force."And he had his hand like this and I'm looking as a retired cop. Nine times out of 10, he don't have a gun," Calfayan said. But sheriff's detectives say they can't be sure. They're telling area shop keepers if somebody comes in their store that looks like the guy on that security video to call 911.The suspect is described as a white male, 45 to 60 years old, 6-feet tall, 180 pounds, salt and pepper hair.
