Suspect Wears Surgical Masks During Robbery

Posted: 7:16 am EDT October 29, 2009

Investigators say a masked man held up a Walgreens on 125 E. Main Street (see map), two blocks from the Apopka Police Department early Thursday morning.

Police say 43-year-old William Peacock used two surgical masks, with eye-holes cut out to hide his face when he robbed the pharmacy. The suspect demanded Vicodin, but the pharmacist gave Peacock two bottles of Hydrocodone.

Peacock, officers say, demanded drugs from the pharmacist and then took off. A police dog caught him minutes later.

Peacock was taken to the hospital to be treated for dog bites.

Police say he is not the man who has robbed one-dozen businesses in central Florida in the past week.
