Gun At School Turns Out To Be Toy

Maitland police raced to a school campus Monday after getting a report that a student had brought a weapon to school. Officers said they got a call from the Summit Charter School on Maitland Avenue (see map).

Officers said one student reported that another student had a weapon. When police checked out the situation, officers discovered the weapon was really a toy gun.

The school will not say if the student faces any punishment.
