PALM BAY, Fla. -- Palm Bay police released pictures Wednesday of handcuffs and ropes they say a man planned to use in an elaborate sex slave plot. The plot was foiled when the victim convinced 44-year-old Tony Green to release her from his house in Brevard County.Tony Green made his first court appearance before a judge Wednesday afternoon. The judge set his bond at $201,000.Green was arrested late Tuesday night at his home on Wyoming Drive (see map)EVIDENCE PHOTOS: Items Seized By Police FIRST APPEARANCE : See Images Of Suspect MAN TAKEN TO JAIL: See Images | Watch Video READ: Suspect's Arrest ReportEyewitness News was there when he was taken to jail (images) | (video) early Wednesday morning.Police released pictures of the restraining devices he had in his home. They found eye-bolts in the floor and the ceiling of one room. Handcuffs, rope and leather straps were just a few of the items they seized from the home of Tony Green.Officers believe Green was planning to use those items to keep his victim restrained."The biggest concern that I have with this is I don't know if he personally feels what he did was wrong and that to me is alarming," Detective Steve Hill of the Palm Bay Police Department said.Green appeared before a Brevard County judge wearing a jail-issued suicide prevention garment.Prosecutors asked the judge to keep his bond high so he couldn't be freed before trial."This is an extremely disturbing situation, the planning and the forethought that went into this,” Assistant State Attorney David Feinswog said.
Investigators say Green lured the victim, a 16-year friend, into his house urging the married woman to look at his cat. Then police say he surprised her by slapping a handcuff around one wrist."She was completely caught off guard by this, shocked," Hill explained. After struggling for some time, police say she coaxed him into letting her go by telling him she loved him like a brother. In a police recorded phone call the next day, investigators said Green told the woman he planned restrain her so he could take nude pictures of her and then was planning to use those pictures to blackmail her into having sex with him once a week."We see a lot of weird stuff and I hate to say I've never seen anything like this, but I've never seen anything like this," Hill said.Police believe he was infatuated. They aren't sure how long he was planning to hold her captive. They say she is lucky she was able to get free and detectives that talked to her said she may just now be realizing the severity of the situation.Green's victim may not have known she was in any danger since she was friends with him.He was not a registered sex offender and he had one offense on his criminal record, which was a cocaine conviction in 1992.Green faces up to 30 years behind bars and faces charges of kidnapping, attempted sexual battery and extortion.
