TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- It seems like Governor Charlie Crist is doing an about face Thursday morning when it comes to his position on the federal economic stimulus package.During an interview Wednesday night, Crist said he knew the bill would pass and he just agreed with it for the sake of the state. He also took a swipe at President Obama."Unfortunately, the President thinks that everything we need to do for every problem that comes along is spend more money and that's just wrong. Frankly, enough is enough," said Crist.Crist also said he never endorsed the $787 billion stimulus plan. But Eyewitness News reported in February when Crist appeared with the President in support of the bill.Crist was among 19 governors who sent the President a letter in support of the economic stimulus plan. He even asked Florida's members of Congress to vote for it.Eyewitness News also reported when Governor Crist made an appearance on a network talk show later that month to defend the package."Because of the stimulus bill we can pay our teachers more next year than we did this year and I think it works well and it does what's right," said Crist.Crist has tried to distance himself from Obama and the stimulus bill since entering the 2010 U.S. Senate race.
