BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. -- An Isleworth man accused of murdering his wife was allowed to leave his house Saturday to attend her funeral in Brevard County. Bob Ward is on home confinement, but a judge granted his request to go to Diane Ward's memorial service. Her family did not object to Bob Ward attending the funeral.Investigators say he shot his wife inside their Isleworth mansion in October.Bob Ward rushed in and out of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Viera hoping to dodge the cameras. Then the millionaire and his daughters got in a white Cadillac SUV and made their way to a family reception held at a Holiday Inn nearby.Approximately 100 people showed up for Saturday morning's service in Diane Ward's memory. The 61-year-old is accused of shooting his wife in their $3.5 million Isleworth mansion last month and was arrested.Ward paid a $100,000 bond to get out of jail. He was issued a monitoring bracelet and isn't allowed to leave Orange County without permission. But a judge granted Ward's request to attend Saturday’s funeral, because his wife's family didn't have a problem with him being there.According to court documents, Ward first told a 911 operator he shot his wife, and then later said she committed suicide. But a medical examiner testified the evidence didn't point towards a suicide.A judge gave Ward permission to leave Orange County from 7:00am to 5:00pm.
