Daytona Beach Home Alarm Fee Rescinded

Daytona Beach residents who paid a $30.00 fee to register their home alarm system will be getting their money back.

At a meeting Wednesday night, the Daytona Beach City Council put an immediate stop to the controversial alarm system fee.

Eyewitness News first reported last month when the city sent out notices that people with home alarm systems owed the city $30.00.

It turns out the fee was an old ordinance that was never enforced until the fire department suddenly decided to go after the money.
