Boy, 13, Shoots School Window With BB Gun

A 13-year-old boy was in Brevard County's Juvenile Detention Center Friday afternoon after admitting to police he shot out the window of a school bus with his BB gun. Police charged Marquise Colbreth with 11 felonies for firing his BB gun at the bus as he stood in his front yard Thursday afternoon.

None of the 10 Johnson Middle School students on board was injured, but now Colbreth is in serious trouble with police.

"It's a very serious charge. It's a second-degree felony. It carries that weight because of the potential for injury inside the bus is so great," Lt. Curtis Barger of the Melbourne Police Department said.

Investigators think the shooting was meant to be a prank, but so far Colbreth hasn't said why he fired the BB gun.

Colbreth’s parents wouldn't comment on the incident.
