Motorcyclist Killed In Brevard County

Troopers are investigating a crash in Brevard County that killed a motorcyclist.

Florida Highway Patrol says the 52-year-old man was driving on State Road 46 near Folsom Road in Mims when a pickup truck hit him.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

There's no word yet if the driver will face any charges.

The victim's name has not been released.

Troopers were heading to that deadly crash, when they found what they thought was a hazardous chemical spill.

Authorities shut down State Road 46, just east of I-95 for nearly two hours while Hazmat crews investigated the spill.

The barrel was labeled sodium hydroxide, which is a hazardous liquid.

When crews arrived, they discovered the liquid was just water.
